Biography
Karla Mercer is Manager of Colorado-based Mercer Energy Advisors LLC. Ms. Mercer’s professional background includes exclusive consulting on A&D projects for two advisory firms, managing various corporate A&D activities for two large independents, and managing investments for two private equity funds. Ms. Mercer began her career in Denver in 1981 with Ladd Petroleum Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric, and joined Snyder Oil Corporation in Fort Worth in 1989. Ms. Mercer managed corporate acquisition, divestiture and reservoir activities in the broader Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast, Offshore and Canada regions for these two large independents. |
Returning to Denver in 1998, Ms. Mercer consulted exclusively on acquisitions and divestitures, directing business development efforts and providing marketing support for two Houston-based advisory firms and on transaction oriented Mercer Energy Advisors projects. Between 2005 and 2007, Ms. Mercer worked as Senior Vice President with Dallas-based Energy Spectrum to evaluate and manage investments for its Energy Trust Partners private equity funds. Ms. Mercer received a B.S. in Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering at Colorado School of Mines. Ms. Mercer has held active leadership and sponsorship roles within many local and nationwide oil and gas trade associations. |
